Well, the Kerns are still learning how to speak "Evan." It was amazing...he was upset most of the day and evening, not eating well AT ALL (1.5 ounces at most, when he had been taking 4-5oz each feeding) and wouldn't tolerate being held, put down, or placed in his swing. This is all very unusual for him, as he really doesn't cry unless he's hungry.
Anyhow, back to the amazing part: He hadn't had a dirty diaper since Tuesday (3 days) and as soon as we gave him something for it (I'll spare you the details) he was instantly happy! The doctors office told us to wait until Sunday to intervene, but with his mood today I decided it was time for him to go! He then gobbled down almost 5 ounces and went right to sleep. I probably shouldn't have been so impatient, but he just wasn't himself. Paul commented on that when he got home, that he hadn't been himself the last couple days.
Tomorrow is the March of Dimes walk that we'll walk in to raise money and awareness for premature babies. I never really understood what it was all about until now, but they fund research and prevention programs and much more.
We'll be walking with Angie Winkler, who organized a team and raised money, as I just couldn't commit to doing it. But she's a great friend and has been touched by our little man's journey, so thank you Angie, very much!
I'm going to try to post more pictures, but sometimes it doesn't work. Good night and God Bless!

More new things...
Evan has also learned to roll over from his belly to his back. Though, he's not willing to perform this trick for anyone else, and especially not the camera!
We are looking forward to a trip to Florida to see Paul's mom and stepdad, John and Sheila. If anyone has suggestions on taking 3-6 mo. old infant on a plane, let me know! I'm usually pretty brave when it comes to airplane rides, but I'm not sure how I'll feel taking him with us. We'll (Paul, Misty, Evan, and Paul's brother Matt) be meeting Paul's sister and brother-in-law, Mandy and Andy, and driving together to Port Charlotte.
If you read this, Evan would like prayers for a new friend he has in the NICU right now. Her name is Vivian, and she is having some trouble right now with fighting pnemonia after undergoing a couple surgeries. We won't share anymore to protect her family, but if you could keep baby Vivian in your prayers, I know Evan would be grateful. After all, he certainly knows that all of your prayers helped him to be the healthy guy he is today.
We'll keep in touch!

I'm learning new things!
I'm learning to grab at toys and hold them and bring them to my mouth! I can't wait to grow up and be like my cousin Davin, who started crawling, got his first tooth, and said "Da Dee" all in one week!
Evan's first post
Good morning everyone! Since I'm not really sick anymore, I think I'll make a different website for you to go to when you want to check in on me. I still like to hear from you, so you can leave us messages here too. I'll be sure to put pictures on here so you can keep up with my new looks. I'm just growing and growing...10lbs 12oz on Monday the 21st! I just can't be stopped! Thank you so much for all of your support through my ordeal in the hospital and first coming home. Mommy and Daddy really appreciate it. Love, Evan
